Most pregnancies progress routinely, and the majority of newborns are healthy. But when doctors identify complications in mom or baby during pregnancy, obstetricians / gynaecologists refer patients to a team of specialists at POOJA HOSPITAL HIGH RISK PREGNANCY UNIT, who can provide advanced care.
These risk factors range from medical disorders complicating pregnancy to complications like preterm birth to recurrent pregnancy losses to multiple pregnancy to mothers with higher age or weight.
The High Risk Pregnancy Unit is designed to care for women who are experiencing pregnancy complications, medical complications during pregnancy or complications during delivery. To care for these unique needs, POOJA HOSPITAL'S HIGH RISK PREGNANCY UNIT provides 24 hour obstetric and anaesthesia coverage. Our highly skilled team will provide compassionate care and assist Patient and patient’s family during this time to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Our interdisciplinary healthcare team will collaborate with the Labour and Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Level III (NICU) teams to deliver care based on standard protocols to optimize patient health and the health of newborn baby.
Patient may be transferred by ambulance depending on clinical situation. Upon arrival, patient is received on the Labor and Delivery Unit, or our High Risk Pregnancy Unit, depending on care needs. Our highly skilled Maternal Care team includes in-house, experienced Obstetrician/Gynaecologist (OB/GYN), physicians and specially trained nurses. Additional physicians who may see you include a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician (Primatologist) and Neonatologist.
